Our Cub Pack…
The Cub Pack is the second section of the Scout Group following on from Beavers. Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 and 10 ½. We meet each Monday evening from 7:00 till 8:30pm at our Scout Hut (during term time only).
During their time in the Pack, Cub Scouts will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on camps which is a great opportunity for Cubs to earn some basic life skills such as cooking, washing up and personal hygiene. They also develop team spirit, leadership and practice a number of scouting skills such as 1st Aid, knot work, shelter building and even fire lighting. As part of a Sea Scout group they will also get the chance to undertake water activities.
Participation and personal development, rather than meeting set standards, is the key approach, and there are a range of badges and challenge awards that Cub Scouts can gain to recognise their achievements.
